The harp was invented by Jubal, 3875 B.C. David played the harp before Saul, 1063 B.C. (1 Samuel, xvi., 23). The Cimbri, or English Saxons, had this instrument. The celebrated Welsh harp was strung with gut; and the Irish harp, 'like the more ancient harps, with wire.
