TERRIFIC BARRAGE.

Numerous Bombs Dropped On Britain.

NO DEATHS REPORTED.

United Press Association Copyright. (Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, June 28. It is officially reported that enemy aeroplanes carried out bombing: attacks in several districts of Britain during the night. No serious damage was done and there were very few casualties. The raiders met the hottest defence from searchlights and anti-aircraft guns. The enemy aircraft did their beet to escape from the beams of the search- ; lights and were seen retreating to sea with the British fighters on their tails. They received a terrific barrage in the north-east of England. The Ministry of Home Security 1 announced that three civilians were injured in last night's raid. None were killed. Sixteen civilians .were injured and none killed in the raids on the night of Wednesday. Two 'planes dropped three small bombs in the Midlands area. Two bombs fell in the Welsh area. Some damage was done, but there were, no casualties. Fourteen bombs fell on a farm in the. north-east area of England. Two cattle were killed, and a number of persons injured. Between 50 and 60 incendiary bonite fell on another farm. Small fires which started were quickly extinguished. The Germans appear to be using delayed action bombs. One was dropped near a south-eastern village, last night and exploded some hours later, shaking houses. Four members of the crew of a Heinkel bomber that took part in raids on this country on Wednesday night were landed at an East Coast port yesterday. It is thus confirmed that three enemy bombers were destroyed in these operations, and a fourth is known to have been seriously damaged. In the past 10 days German aeroplanes have raided Britain on seven nights. Up to 100 enemy aircraft have been engaged in one night. A total of 30 civilians have, been killed in the raids and 130 injured. From the military point of view the damage has been negligible.
