NATIONAL RESERVE.
RALLY TO-MORROW NIGHT.
With a view to obtaining the services of mure ex-servicemen so that the Auckland Fortress Battalion, which comprises men of Class II of the National Military Reserve, can be brought up to strength a rally will be held in the Tivoli Theatre. Kartingahapc Road, to-morrow night. Admission will be by medals, and men are invited to bring their wives. An explanation of what enlistment in die battalion involves will be given and men will be asked to offer their services for the defence of Auckland. Most of the members of the battalion have been in training fur some time, and recently all ranks were issued with uniforms and equipment. The training to be carried out comprises 40 days, and this will be performed at evening, half-da v and whole-day parades. Payment will be made for services. Soldiers from any arm of the service arc required, and men who live in or near the city are specially warned. The Band of the" Ist Battalion, Auckland Regiment (C.R.0.), will play at the rally and old war songs will be sung
