MRS. M. P. LONG.
The death ha« - occurred in Auckland of Mrs. Mary. Parsons Long, aged 86. Mrs. Long was the eldest daughter of the late Canon F. Gould, of Otahuhu, and was born at Russell, Bay of Islands. Canon Gould was chaplain to the troops billeted at Otahuhu during the Maori war. Mrs. Long was married at Otahuhu in 1873 to Mr. C. L. Long. Both Mrs. Long and her husband, who was employed in the Railway . Department, were keenly interested in church and social work. At one time she also was interested in amateui* operatic work. Mr*. Long is survived by three sons and one daughter.
