DATE FOR ENGLISH TROPHY
FIXTURE SUGGESTED
When, it was reported to the Auckland Football Association last night that the King's Birthday holiday arrangements had been cancelled, the control board decided to stage the Auckland and Navy iepresentative fixture at Blandford Park next Saturday. This game will now be held in place of the Mount Albert Grammai Old Boys' and Ponsonby match, subject to the approval of the Navy. It was decided to notify the Wellington Association that this appeared to be the only date which would not clash with other outstanding events. The South Auckland Association forwarded a challenge for the Flyger Rosp Bowl with a request that the match should be plaved at Hamilton. South Auckland might be able to challenge for tiip Hallvburton Johnstone Shield as a ! curtalnSiser at Blandford Park It was ' decided to ask the fixtures committee to review the matter and report at the next 1 meeting of the board. i The board confirmed the report of the ' senior division committee that it had agreed that where three or more players were required for the representative team, the 1 tfam concerned had the option of not playing the club fixture set down for that day. It was resolved to send a letter to the Auckland Rugby League suitably acknowledging its part in the combined sports day at Carlaw Park last Saturday.
