PROTEST MADE.
MR. LEE'S EXPULSION. WATKRSIDKRS' RESOLUTION. Illy Tcl.- S ra;.h.—l'res- A-sodiTlon.) WLLLIXGTOX. this day. The cx| ulsion of Mr J. A. Lee from the Xew Zealand Labour party was considered at a slop-work meeting of the Wellington branch of the Xcvv Zealand Waterside Workers' Federation. It was stated subsequently that a motion was put to the meeting to the effect that the branch withdraw its delegates to the Wellington Labour Representation Cimmittee as a protect against the expulsion of Mr. Lee. This motion was said to have been defeateil by a small majority. An amendment that the meeting make an emphatic protest against the expulsion of >l r. Lee froni the Labour party, wjth a direction that it be handed to the Press, was carried by a large majority, it ivas further stated. A later Press A-oiciat ion message state* that no official conlirm'atinii vva« available today of the foregoing report.
