OBITUARY.
MB. THOMAS WTUTM. The death hag occurred at Masterton of Mr. Thomas Wyeth, who was born in Wellington 91 years ago. The parents of Mr. Wyeth were among the earliest immigrants to the Dominion, arriving in New Zealand in 1840. In his younger days, Mr. Wyeth was interested in athletics, and held the two miles Xew Zealand championship from 1866 to 1871. Mr. Wyeth and his family were living in the Hutt Valley in 1858, the rear of the disastrous flood which claimed 13 lives and destroyed farms and stock. After the flood, the family moved to Stokes Valley, and then to Masterton, where Mr. Wyeth had lived for the past 65 years.
