WANGANUI BY-ELECTION.

(By Telegraph.—Prese Association.) WANGANUI, this day. To fill vacancies on the City Council caused by the death of Mr. H. 'Lawrence (Labour) and the resignation of Mr. C. N. Armstrong (Citizens' League) following enlistment, six candidates have been nominated for the by-election. They are Messrs. W. Searle (Labour), A. E. Halligan (Citizens , League), A. Bullock (Independent), A. C. Hatrick (Independent), R. J. Jackson (Independent) and H. H. West (Independent). Polling day will be April 13.
