NEW METROPOLE CABARET.
Special celebration parties animated the scene at the New Metropole Cabaret on Saturday evening, "wtoen a large number of guests were entertained ttt 'birthday and wedding festivals. The jnueic by Sammy Lee'e Americanadians was appropriately chosen for thie occasion, and was sustained at a g»y a.nd breezy pace. Slow and quick foxtrots and jazz waltzes comprised the modern dance programme, stimulated by the swing measure of the band. The latest overseas cabaret euccbaaee included "Cheatin' On Me," introducing novelty instrumental touches, and *"Blue Birds In The Moonlight," with song by Miss Joy Rovelle. Old favourite airs were aleo given uy special request, and comedy show numbers were vocalised by Roy Lester, Neil Thurgate, Bobbie Reid and Peter McMurray. The lighting scheme was a feature of the presentations.
