The 19th aniftial race from Auckland to Tauranga started this afternoon at the King s wharf. The entries and handicaps were: —Ranger, scr (Tercel Bros) • Rest<H. J. B Bull) ; Queenie, 5h (T. The race was Started on the flve-fla" system. The course was from off the King s wharf, thence through Motutapu Passaee direct to the finishing line, off the Mount,' at the entrance to Tauranga Harbour. The distance is 121 nautical miles and the first the course lies out to Cape Colville * thence down the eastern shore Ba! wither v Peninsula, past Mercury Bay, with the Mercury group well out to sea. Old Man Rock, the Shoe and Slinper Castle .P ock and Karewha Island, which is six miles from The Mount, 762 ft high and almost fiat on top, which can "be picked up in fine weather over 30 miles
