AMBULANCE BRIGADE.

INSPECTIONS IN COUNTRY. The annual inspection of the Waihi. Paeroa, Thames and Hauraki Plains Ambulance Divisions of tlie St. John Vmbulance Brigade was conducted at jhe week-end by Mr. F. J. Hutchinson, assistant commissioner of the brigade. _ Mr. Hutchinson was accompanied by District Superintendent H. D. Cobb and District Officer E. A. Houston, of the South Auckland area, and District Officer C. Liniesay, and Corps Officer W. R. Dawson, of the Auckland staff. At each division all the available members were on parade. At Waihi the "Wailii Citizens' Ambulance, which is usually driven by members of the brigade, was also inspected. Mr. Hutchinson and Mr. Cobb addressed each division stressing the leed for efficiency and thanking them for their services to the community. Many of :he members travel distances up to 34 miles to' attend parades and public duty. The members of the Hauraki Plains Division up to September have travelled 2291 miles to attend parades, and have treated this year 658 cases. ELLERSLIE MEMBERS. "The roll has increased from 11 to 24 fullv qualified members. Many come from Manurewa and Otahuhu to attend the weekly parades," said Mx. J. A. Phillipps, divisional superintendent, at an open evening of the Ellerslie St. John Ambulance Brigade Division. During the evening the Mayor of Ellerslie, Mr. H. J. White presented to Private K. Plummer the Kent Tucker Memorial Cup for most marks received during the year for general efficiency. conduct and public duties.
