VISITING STAFF.
AUCKLAND HOSPITAL.
QUESTION OF PAYMENT.
DISCUSSION FENDING.
in view of the likelihood of payment being made in future to the honorary visiting staff at the Auckland Hospital, the Auckland Hospital Board has decided to meet the members, of the staff in conference to discuss the matter. It has been decided to hold the conference as early as possible, but so far no date has been fixed.
Recently a conference was held at Wellington between representative? of the New Zealand Hospital Boards' Association and the British Medical Association to discuss medical staffing of hospitals. It was decided that a scale of payments for the different hospitals should be drawn up by a liaison committee of representatives of the medical profession end hospital boards, and that nominations should be left to each organisation.
The chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, Mr. Allan J. Moody, said today that when a scale was agreed upon it would probably be a lead for the otlier hospital boards in the Dominion.
