NATIONAXi CHAMPIONSHIPS. AUCKLAND BEATS HAWKE'S BAT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARGILTj, Friday. The New Zealand basketball tournament was continued to-aay in fine weather. Three provinces, Auckland, Southland and Wellington, have an equal number of points in tiie first grade section, and to-morrow's matches will l>e full of Interest. Results of to-day's games:— First Fade.—Auckland 17, Hawke's Bay 14; Southland 16, Canterbury 10; Wellington 1!), Otago 13 ; Auckland 24, Canterbury !> ; Otago 21, Southland 0; Wellington, 16, Hawke's Bay 13. Second Crade.—Waikato 13. Ashburton 12; Southland Manor 15, Wairarapa 11; South Canterbury 12, Manawatu 10; South Canterbury 14, Southland Minor 13; Waikato 12, Wairarapa 11. Third Crade.—West Coast 15, Temuka 8; Ilokitika lit, Otago Minor 11; Wanganui 26, Otago Minor 0 ; Temuka 21, Hokitika 4.
