DEATH OF HUSBAND.
WIDOW AXD PAREXTS CLAIM.
A total of £1704 0/ was awarded by a jury in the Supreme Court yesterday in the him , in winch Xancie Florence Cox. widow of Errol Spencer Cox (Mr. Hai;:h) sought £3500 general and JJ.!2 <>/ special damages from Thomas Derrick (Mr. J. B. Johnson). I'iaintiir's husband was killed in an accident on the Creat South Road on February 2tt Liability was admitted by defendant and the amount of damages only was in dispute. In summing up, Mr. Justice Ostler said it was the first time in his experience that he had known a claim to be made nn behalf of the father and mother as well as the widow. The .jury had to determine what was the present value in a lump sum of what each claimant was likely to have received from the deceased. Tho Jury's award was made up of £ 1 r>oo ' general and £32 0/ special damages to plaintiff, £120 to deceased's father and £'r2 to his mother.
