NIGHT ON CLIFF TOPS.
TRAMPERB' EXPERIENCE.
(By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.)
NAPIKR, this day.
A party consisting of a young married couple and two girls were forced to spend a night on the cliffs at Clifton, near Xapier, when they found themselves held up on their return trip after visiting the tape Kidnappers gannet rookery. When they left the Cape they decided to walk along the cliffs instead of the customary beach route, but after four miles found their way barred by gullies and broken ground. They decided to *tay where they were for the night, but had the misfortune to encounter extremely bitter conditions, with rain and sleet. The police had began to organise a search party when the trippers arrived home, having suffered slightly £rom hunger and cold.
