INJURED IN ACCIDENTS.

FIVE CYCLISTS ABE HURT.

Two persons received fatal injuries in accidents during the week-end. The first accident occurred in Devonport, and the other was in Wellington. Five cyclists were injured near Orewa Bridge, when, in the course of a road race, they came into collision with a motor cyclist, three being admitted to hospital. » t ie lesult of a collision between two motor cars a young woman was admitted to the Auckland Hospital with a head injury. There were also several other mishaps.

Fatal injuries were received bv Mrs Maria Sanford, aged 62, of 8." Anne Street, Devonport, when she was knocked down by a motor car in Victoria Road, Devonport, at about S o clock 011 Saturday evening. She suffeied head injuries and concussion ami died in a private hospital vestcrdav morning. The accident 'happened almost outside the Public Library. Pre#3 Association message from Wellington says that fatal head injuues were suffered by Mr. Frederick James Joseph Harrison, aged 45, of Sea ton 11, a carpenter engaged at' the Exhibition, when he fell 011 the footpath at Seatoun 011 Saturday evening. Mr. Harrison was taken in a Free Ambulance to the Wellington Public Hospital, where his death occurred at midnight. A post-mortem examination is to be made, and the police are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
