SOLDIERS' REUNION.
SYDNEY CONTINGENT MEN.
Reminiscenses of the attractions of Sydney and the hospitality of the Australian people were recalled on Saturday night when the first annual reunion of New Zealand returned soldiers who visited the Commonwealth to take part in the Anzac display, which were a part of the sesqui-centennial celebrations, was held at the Tiffin dining rooms. Mr. W. T. Beagle presided. Despite the wet weather almost 100 were present, and tributes were paid to the secretary an dorganiser of the function, Mr. W. H. "Stonewall") Jackson, for the success of the gathering. Several toasts were honoured. Particularly impressive was the "Silent -Toast" to comrades who had passed on. The appropriate bugle calls were sounded by ex-service bugler, Mr. A. W. V. McGuire. An excellent programme of entertain-. ; ment was submitted.
Speakers stressed the importance of holding a similar reunion every year. Among those present were mfflntxw
