MORNING TEA.
BALLBT* ARTISTS ENTERTAINED.
At a morning tea given by the Auckland Travel Club in the Milne and Choyce reception room yesterday the management and members of the Covent Garden Russian Ballet were special guests of honour. The president, Mr. J. A. C. Allum at the meeting and hostesses for the morning were Mrs. J. A. C." Allum and Miss E. Bennet.
A brief address was given by Monsieur Anton Dolin, a principal of the ballet. M. Dolin said that owing to rehearsals the members of the ballet had not been able to see much of the country but they were looking forward to a very pleasant five and a half weeks in New Zealand.
. A programme of violin solos, including a Russian wedding dance, was played by Mrs. Edwin R. Greenfield, and Russian songs were contributed by Miss Berta Carr. The accompanistes were Mrs. M. Gully and Mrs. R. Reed.
Floral shoulder sprays were presented by Miss Bennet to all . the members of the ballet, and also to Mrs. Greenfield, "Mrs. Reed, Mrs. Gully and Miss Carr.
In addition to the guests of honour who also included Monsieur Victor Dandre, were the following members of the Traval Club committee: Mrs. Eliot Davis, Mrs. Charles Martyn, Mrs. G. T. Simpson, Mrs. Raymond Sheath, Mrs. H. T. Merritt, Mrs. C. B. V. Wheeler, Mrs. J. McKenzie Wilson, Mrs. J. T. F. Mitchell and Mrs. F. H. Gilford.
