WOMEN'S PROGRESS CLUB.
FIRST MEETING OF YEAR. The Women's Progress Club of the Higher Thought Centre opened ' its year's activities with a picnic at Titirangi Beach yesterday. Mrs. C. Dickens, the president, arranged games and competitions and the winners were as follows: —finessing the name competition. Mrs. P. Hubbert and Mrs. Norton; grandmothers' walking race. Mrs. (Jolding; throwing the ball in the hat. Miss E. Pake; throwing the ball, Mrs. Daverick; running race. Mrs. Jenkins and Mrs. Norton; skipping race, Mrs. Pierce; egg and spoon race, Mrs. Xeave. After an early tea the members of the Progress Club returned to the city by a special bus by the way of the new scenic, drive.
