INTRUDER CAPTURED.
OWNER'S PROMPT ACTION. (Bjr Tetegmph.-—Prw AsaactaMon.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Wednesday. The resource displayed by the proprietor of a tttore at Sentry Kill, eight miles from New Plymouth, nnd the quick response of the police at Waitara resulted in the speedy capture nf an intruder in the act of burgling the store. Roused by his assistant just before midnight Mr. K. C. Jury found tha door of his store forced open ami heard sounds inside. He roused a railwny employee, set a guard on the building, and called the police. This resulted in the arrest of Archibald Andrew Charles Scott, aged 53, • labourer who pleaded guilty in the Wnitara Police Court to-day to entering the store with intent to commit a crime. He was committed in custody to the Supreme Court for sentence.
