MURDER CHARGE.
YOUNG MAN ARRESTED Brutal Killing Of Prominent N.S.W. Woman. BROTHER BEVERELT INJURED. United Press Association. —Copyright. (Received 10 n.in.) SYDNEY, this day. Trevor John Kelly, aged 24, a motor mechanic, who was arrested at Brisbane on Sunday, charged with stealing a motor truck, was yesterday brought to Tentertield and charged with the murder of Miss Constance Sommerlad and with inflicting grievous bodily harm on her brother. ' Kelly was remanded. The dead woman was aged 36. She kept house for her brother, Kric Sommerlad, aged 2(5, a farmer, four miles from Tentertield, where the family was well known and respected. Miss C'-onstance apparently was attacked with an axe while in bed, her head being terribly injured. Her brother was similarly assailed and was found unconscious. There was little hope of his recovery. The tragedy was discovered by a sister of the victims who was visiting the house. Miss Constance Sommerlad was a niece of Mr. K. C. Sommerlad, a member of Parliament and manager of the Country Press Association, New South Wales.
