CLOTHING ABLAZE.
AGED WOMAN'S ORDBAL.
When her clothing caught alight through coming iu contact with a copper fire in her wa»hli»use on Saturday afternoon, Mm. Mary Tottenham, a widow, aged 82, of Melon'* Bay, near Howick. suffered extensive burns. Her calls for help were not heard, but rushing to a tap ontaide ahe managed to extinguish Mm flames. She remained at her home on Hafcnrday night and yesterday was taken to the Auckland Hospital. Her condition on admiaaion was regarded as fairly seriona, but was improving to-day.
