SPEEDWAY MISHAP.

MOTOR CYCLIST INJURED.

Struck by a following motor cycle after he had fallen from his machine at the conclusion of an event at the Auckland Motor Cycle Club's picnic at Henning's Npeedway. Mangere, yrwter<tay afternoon, Mr. Charles J»roper Morgan, aged JW, married, of 23, Sherwood Avenue, Grey Lynn, suffered severe abdominal injorta.

Mr. Morgan was running his machine off the course, having just completed an event, when It struck an obstruction and he was thrown to the ground. He «m immediately struck bv a following rider who could not avoid him. He wa* treated by Dr. C. C. Jenkins, of Manurewa, and was then taken as far as Royal Oak by truck. At Royal Oak the truck wm met by a St. John ambulance and he wa* taken tr> the Auckland Hospital. Hi* condition to-day was reported to be fair.

ItVOKY ESCAPE.

Minor Injuries were suffered by all the occupant* of a car driven by Mr. L F. Funwell, of Mako Street, Epsom, when It overturned on the Main South Road, near Ohinewai, yesterday. The passengers were Mrs. Fussell, her tnree children, Mr, and Mrs. Pedley, of Osborne Street, Newmarket, and Mr. J. Jones, of Heme Bay. All were taken to the Waikato Hospital in a St. John ambulance, but were able to go horna after receiving treatment.

FALL FROM POLO POUT.

A fracture of the right ankle was Buffered by Mr. Maurice Edward Lawes, aged 20, of Church Street, Otahuhu, when lie fell from his home during a polo match at 'Papatoetoe .yesterday afternoon. Mr. Thomas Albert Purcell, aged 5*2, of (), Church Street, Pon«onby, fractured his left ankle when he tripped and fell in Pon»>onby Road on Saturday night.
