LEARN-TO-SWIM CAMPAIGN.
KEEN INTEREST IN SOUTH.
Unpleasant weather conditions, together with unfavourable tides and rough sons on the beaches, seriously hampered the carrying out of swimming instruction In Auckland under the national learn-to-swim campaign at present in progress. There ,were very few on the la-aches, and little teaching was done.
The Auckland professional coach, Mr. I). B. Anderson, who has been touring in Southern districts addressing voluntury teachers, has returned to Auckland. He reports good attendance* at his meetings, and keen interest., not only by clubs and schol teachers, but also by local authorities.
The instructional film to illustrate free style method*, made under the supervision of the local organiser, Mr. VV. O. Stockley, will be screened for the first tlmo thin evening at • meeting of the Auckland brunch of the National Committee of Swimming and Life-saving, and of the Auckland Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association. Copies may be obtained on request for showing at schools.
