IMPROVEMENTS URGED.

HAMILTON AIR POST. (From Our Correspondent.) HAMILTON', Monday. A statement that it was likely that Hamilton would be included in tho proposed Auckland-Gisbornc air service after a period of months was made by Mr. A. G. Ward, president, at a meeting of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce to-night. "The stumbling block appears to be the unsatisfactory surface of the prrvsent aerodrome at Kukuhiu." he said. A letter from the Public Works Department stated that the present site at Rukuhia could be made euitablc for heavy aircraft by extension and surface development. "Although suitable for light aeroplanes," said Mr. Ward, "the aerodrome is not suitable for heavy airliners, and it seems doubtful if Hamilton will become a port of call until the aerodrome is put in order," A meeting had lieen held by local bodies with a view to the improvement of the landing ground, but «o far nothing tangible appeared to have been done. A deputation comprising Messrs. Ward, P. Reid and R. Challoner was appointed to wait on the Mayor of Hamilton, Mr. H. D. Caro, regarding the matter.
