CONTROL OF HOSPITALS. At a meeting of the Auckland Hospital Board held last night the de-irability of women occupying positions on such local bodies. a» the Auckland Hospital Board was stressed by Mi-is M. t'-atton. director of social services for the Hospital Social Service Association of Hawaii. Miss Catton, who is paying a brief visit to the Dominion, was the guest of the Hospital Board at the meeting.

In replying to a welcome extended by the chairman, Mr. Allan A. Moody. Mis* Catton said she wa« very impressed to see women as member* of the Hospital Board. For a hospital with a very large population of women, it was a wise fitfp and she was very interested to see the position in Auckland.
