FLOOD CONTROL WORKS, (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WESTPORT, Monday. The Minister of Mines, the Hon. P. C. Webb, spent to-day in the Karamca district inspecting the flood control works, with which he expressed the {Tieatcst satisfaction. Farmers should now be free from flooding of their lands, a constant trouble since the days of the earthquake.
Mr. Webb ateo inspected lands on which machinery may be expected to )i y a big part in making the land more productive. A drive wae also taken out as far as vehicles could po on the road intended ultimately to connect Karaniea with Collingwood.
