POLLING RESULTS.
SAMOAN COUNCIL. APIA, November 27. In the polling for the two elective scats on the Samoan Legislative Council, which took place yesterday, the returns are as follows:— Mr. O. F. Nelson 332 Dr. C. M. Dawson 270 Mr. A. G. Smyth 216 Mr. Amando Stowers .... 152 Mr. E. T. Pleasants 135 Mr. P. W. Glover 28 About 30 votes are still to come, but they cannot affect the result. Approximately 98 per cent of the electors voted. The Legislative Council consists of six official members, two elected European unofficial members, and two nominated native members. The electoral franchise is exercisable by the male European population resident in the territory, subject to a small property or income qualification.
