LABOUR PARTY.
BELMONT-BAYSWATER
The Women's group in the BelmontBayswjiter districts met at the Presbyterian Hall on Wednesday afternoon. Miss Colbrook who chose as her subject, "Finance and Women," pave an address that was singularly interesting and earned the speaker applause at its close. The chair was ably taken by Mrs. Von Sturmer. A musical programme, which had been arranged by the committee, followed the address, and the large gathering was not slow* to show its appreciation of the efforts of the artists, Mesdames Moore and Hawking. MOUNT ALBERT. Mrs. F. Martin, president of the Mount Albert women's group of the New Zealand Labour party, presided over a large meeting of enthusiastic members held at Mount Albert on Wednesday. The usual routine business of the meeting received the necessary attention. Mrs. Dawson, one of the foundation members of the Auckland women's branch, was the speaker for the afternoon. Mrs. Dawson outlined the scial security legislation, and altogether her address was a most interesting and informative one. ROSKILL ELECTORATE. A pleasant evening in aid of the ! Labour party was spent at the home of Mi's. Aldridge on Saturday evening. Mr. ' Richards was present and gave a" brief speech. Among the ladies present were: Mesdames Richards, Lloyd, Barley, Hodges, | Mayne, Allen, Cook, Morgan, Nixon, I Grogan, Wood and Spink.
ROSKILL AND SANDRINGHAM. | The weekly meeting of the ladies' group was held in the committee room, Dominion Road, on Tuesday afternoon. The president, Mrs. Aldridge, presided. Mr. Richards gave a short address. Afternoon tea was then served by the ladies' committee. I
