COMING OF AGE.
An enjoyable evening was had hy all who attended the Mount Eden tea kiosk last evening, when Mr. S. V. Rogers held a party in honour of the coming of age of his daughter Thelma. Miss Sybil Rogers, who looked very charming" in cyclamen taffeta, was hostess. The guest of honour, who wore white crepe de chine embroidered with gold leaves, looked very attractive.
Among those present were: Mcsdames A. Stewart. S. Stewart, T. Smith, S. Davies, A. K. Knowles. G. Kinghorn; Misses F. Chetwynd, P. Stewart, G. Powell, J. Powell. H. Wakem. E. Rae, <;. Jones. D. Sapsworth. G. Parkes. T. Mattox. W. Francis. R. Francis, E. Hayward, M. Bellamy, M. Clements.
A delightful evening took place in the Manurewa Town Hall on Tuesday, when Mrs. J. Black gave a dance to celebrate the coming-of-age of her niece, Miss Sheila Fahy. Mrs. Black received a large number of guests wearing a frock of black georgette and lace, with white fur wrap, and Miss Fahy looked charming in a frock of maize taffeta with net trimmings. Miss Joan Fahy wore a dainty frock of white tulle over taffeta, with rosebud trimmings. During the evening songs were rendered by Miss Geison, Miss Germann being the accompanist. Dr. Campbell Jenkins, in the absence of Mr. J. Black, made the presentation of a large kev to the guest of the evening. Mr. Reg Shellam acted as master of ceremonies.
