FORM REPEATED.
KENA'S PLUMPTON HANDICAP.
GOLD VAALS UNLUCKY.
ERINATION IN FORM.
Speculators were singularly accurate early to-day in their attempt to back winner, during the conclusion^ Jockey Club a spring meeting, a. both Erination and Orelio. both of whom only finished third ,„ their respective engagement, on Saturday, when made favourite, were again .ent out first choice and duly won.
The weather was fine, the attendance good, and the course in fair order.
U hen ,t was observed that the wee apprentice G. W. Smith, only a 14-year-old lad, a .on of the trainer of the horse, was to take the place of the experienced jockey R. McTavish in the saddle on Paddy The R.p, who had appeared to win with something in hand on Saturday, investors preferred the chance of Hunt, ngmore in the Spring Handicap. They were left lamenting, the m.n.ature horseman handling Mr. B. Myers* representative nicely to win well.
The pubhc were sadly astray in their judgment in the Plumpton Handicap, as Kena, who was somewhat unluckily beaten by a head when carrying 71b overweight in the Avondale Cup on Saturday, was comparatively neglected—fifth choice in a held ot seven—and scored a meritorious success.
