This makes the sixth season sine# 1931 that Yorkshire has been county champion. Lancashire won in 1934 and Derbyshire in 1936. Results and principal performances in the final round, which terminated this afternoon:— SUSSEX Y. YORKSHIRE. Sussex.—First innings, 77; second, 322 (Cox 142). Yorkshire.—First inninjrs. nine for 330. declared (A. Mitchell 100. Barber 86); second, six for 70 (James Langridge four for 22). Yorkshire won by four wickets. SURREY Y. LANCASHIRE. Surrey.—First innings. 270 (Fishlock 139); second. 133 (Wilkinson six for 53). Lancashire.—First innings. 164 (Watts five for 43); second, two for 241 (Paynter 104, Washbrook 107 not out). Lancashire won by eight wickets. ESSEX Y. GLOUCESTERSHIRE. Essex.—First innings. 553 (Avery 138, O'Connor 83, Nichols 159). Gloucestershire.—First • innings, 97 (Nichols nine for 37): follow-on, 391 (Barnett 151, Crapp 89). Essex won by an innings and 65 runs. KENT V. NOTTS. Kent.—First innings. 84 (Voce seven for 39); second. 122 (Voce six for 53). Notts.—First innings, 133 (Watt five for 33); second, none for 74. Notts won by 10 wickets. LEICESTERSHIRE V. SOMERSET.
