Noted Springbok Full-back Strains Muscle. GERRY BRAND'S CAREER ENDS.' (Received 10 a.m.) CAPETOWX, September 2. Gerry Brand, famous Springbok fullback, has played his last game of Rugby. He again strained his thigh muscle during a run on the eve of the Test against England, for which he had been regarded as a match winner. In three games against the tourists he had scored 30 points. Brand had hoped to continue plavin" until the next All Black visit to South Africa. [The story of Gerry Brand's brilliant career will appear in to-night's "Sports Edition."] _ _
