Preparation of Conference for
Control of Opium.
SERIOUS POSITION IN EAST. \ (Received 1.30 p.m.) RUO.BY, July 3. The League of Nations advisory committee on traffic in opium and other dangerous drugs adopted a report to the Council *giving results of work done. The most important result will probably be a new step forward in preparation of a conference for the limitation and control of opium poppy cultivation and raw opium production. The committee adopted a resolution again drawing the attention of the Council to the serious nature of the drug situation in the Far East, and asking that the Governments interested be requested to take very energetic steps to remedy It.
