APPROVAL NEEDED
BROADCASTS ON FARMING. Without the specific approval of the National Broadcasting Service, Mr. A. E. Robinson is not to deliver any further talks from station IZM, according to notification received by the Auckland provincial branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union. Mr. Robinson stated yesterday that he liad given talks in a private capacity for 18 months.
In advising the union of the decision, the director, Professor J. Shelley, said that while the service was prepared to permit talks in connection with farming generally being broadcast from the station once a week, it was, of course, responsible for Ulic speakers. It was suggested, therefore, that the question be placed before the union with the intimation that any suggestions forwarded would receive careful consideration. If would be necessary for speakers to furnish scripts of proposed talks. 111 the meantime the station concerned had been informed that 110 further talks by Mr. Robinson were to bo given without specific approval.
The union will consider the matter when next it meets.
