NATIONAL PARTY.
WAIMARINO ACTIVITIES. The progress of the Hew Zealand National party during the last eight months was outlined by Mr. M. IT. Wilks, of Taumarunui, the chairman of the Waimarina electorate committee, at the annual meeting of the Raetihi* branch. There was a large and representative gathering and at the request of the chairman of the Raetihi branch, Mr. C. D. Scarrow, the chair was taken by Mr. Wilks.
Tlie chairman of the local branch- in his report referred to the growth of tlie Raetihi branch of tlie party, which lie said now had five sub-branches. The large increase in the membership of t'he sub-branches had necessitated the formation of a local executive, comprising representatives of each committee.
Tlie meeting endorsed remarks of the chairman' regarding *io good work done by the retiring executive. Tlie secretary Mr. K. M. Baird, was unanimously re-elected. Mr. D. P. Scarrow was appointed chairman of the central committee and Mrs. Feltliaiu chairman of the ladies' eommltttc.
