Saturday's Weddings.

HOOD—ANDERSON.

The wedding was celebrated at St. Barnabas Church, Mount Eden, on Saturday night of Miss Nancy Anderson, only daughter of Mr. and" Mrs. G. H. Anderson, of Park Lane, Grafton, and Mr. Arthur Gordon Hood, elder son of Mrs. E. R. Hood, of Park Lane. Grafton. The Rev. G. R. Montieth performed the ceremony. T"he bride, who was given away by her father, wore a lovely gown of cream ciiiffon velvet. Made on slim fitting lines the long trained skirt fell from a high waist line and the bodice, which was remarkable for its simplicity, was gathered into a high plain neckline and was unrelieved with any colour. The sleeves of the frock were gathered into the shoulder line and fell in points over the wrist. The long tulle veil, which fell to form a second train was held in place with a plaited velvet band and a wreath of orange blossom. For a bouquet the bride carried a sheaf of lilies.

The bride was attended by Mrs. H. Smvthe. as matron of honour, and Miss Freda Lean as bridesmaid. Tliey were dressed alike in frocks of water lily green velvet made on similar line#, to that of the bride, with lomr sleeves, high waist and neck lines and slim fitting graceful skirts. Their headdresses were bands of plaited green velvet. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. W. Hogg as best man and Mr. T!. nood (brother of the as groomsman. Following the wedding ceremony a reception was held in the Mount Eden tea kiosk. Mrs. Anderson, mother of the bride, received her guests wearing a graceful gown of lavender velvet embossed in a floral pattern. With it she wore a coatee of gold embossed brocade and a brown hat to tone. Mrs. E. R. Hood, mother of the groom, was wearing a frock of black georgette with a small black coat and a black and srobl toque and a salmon pink spray. Mrs. S. W. Jolly, sister of the bridegroom, was wearing a frock of green and white silk crepe and a silver lantc Juliet cap.
