CHINESE PLAY.
ORIGINAL WORK,
With the lounge decorated to represent a Chinese theatre, a Chinese play was performed on Friday at the home of Mrs. Bartley-Baxter, Glenside Crescent, as the opening event of the season of the Children's Theatre. The audience was composed only of members, and the work of the decoration and Chinese costumes, colourful with dragons and weird scrolls, was all the work of the children. The play was performed in the traditional Chinese manner with stage properties handed by a property man to the players as they required them. Music, which introduced each character, was composed and played by one of the children of the east.
