GISBORNE WATER SUPPLY.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) ' GISBORNE, this day. Reporting on the borough water supply at last evening's meeting of the Gisborne Borough Council, the borough engineer, Mr. 'E. R. Thomas, said that sufficient progress had been made with the reinstatement of the damage caused at the headwater of the borough water supply at Waingake to allow the taking of water from the bush intake. Considerably more groynes and other protection work were necessary before it could be said that the reinstatement work had been satisfactorily completed. Mr. Thomas added that thanks were due to the workmen for the very willing manner in which they had undertaken their work, which during the wet weather was far from pleasant. 1
