18,000 Feet.

WEATHER GOOD AND SUNNY

(Received 11-30 a.m.)

LONDON, May Iβ

"The Times," in a copyright message from Mr. W. H. Tilman, leader of the British Everest expedition, announces that after arrival on April fi the expedition established a base camp at a height of 18,000 feet on the snout of East Rongbnk glacier. Stores have been relayed up to the glacier camps, two and three being established and stocked. Thirty Sherpas have been selected to remain with the party during the assault. The weather is good and sunny and not unbearably cold. The party is suffering from coughs and colds inseparable from high Himalayan altitudes, but no worse than in previous years.
