MAYORAL RECEPTION.
GENERAL HARBORD. i A Mayoral reception was extended today to General Harbord, distinguished soldier and business man from the United States, who is a through passenger on the Monterey. In Sydney be will attend a radio exhibition. The "Mayor, Sir Ernest Davis, said Auckland was always pleased to welcome distinguished visitors, although, he added generously "there is a tendency to regard Auckland as a flag-station." Sir Ernest said he must insist that General Harbord should find time to spend an extended holiday in New Zealand. In reply, General Harbord said he hoped to find an opportunity of spending in New Zealand such a holiday as the importance of the Dominion warranted, and he deeply appreciated the hospitalitv shown him.
