FORT DORSET TEST.

ANTI-AIRCRAFT GUNS. (From Our Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, Friday. An Air Force machine from the Hobsonville base has done 10 hours' flying here in connection with preparations for an anti-aircraft training programme, which will be carried out from Fort Dorset on Monday and Tuesday. The machine, keeping in touch with the fort by radio, has been determining courses and heights at which a target will be flown and fired on.

The height of the aeroplane, its speed and course were transmitted to the ground base to give the anti-aircraft officers an opportunity to test and adjust their equipment, which includes sound-detecting instruments. Meteorological observations will also be made from the 'plane. The target to be used —an enlarged wind-sock —will be attached to about 7000 ft of steel cable, and will be towed behind the machine.
