A Recent Wedding.
PEAKS—ROBERTSON.
St. Matthew's Church was the setting for the picturesque wedding of Miss Joyce Robertson, youngest daughter ot Mis. and the late Mr. J. R. Robertson, of Mount Eden Road, to Mr. Harry Peaks, second son 'of Mrs. and the late Mr. Peake, of Royal Oak. The flowered frocks worn by the charming maids made a summery background for the bride as she entered the church 011 the arm of her brother-in-law, Mr. Norniaii Eraser. The ceremony took place 011 Saturday evening and was performed by the Rev. CI. V. Gerard. The church decorations were carried out to harmonise with the bridal group. The bride's gown was a perfectly-cut confection of figured silver cloth, fitting the figure closely, while allied to the back was a circular train of finelypleated lace and net frills. The filmy tulle veil fell in cascades over the glittering gown and was caught at the head with a long cluster of orange blossom. A sheaf of white water lilies completed the ensemble. r lhe attendant group of bridesmaids comprised Mrs. Ron Patrick, of Sydney (sister of the bride), Misses Mary Peake and Madge Peake (sisters of the bridegroom) who were very effectively drensed in white georgette patterned with sprays of pink, cyclamen and lilac flowers. They were made with slim bodices and bouffant skirts with flowing trains. Their tulle hats had flowered crowns and they carried bouquets to match the colours of their gowns. Two dainty little flower girls were Pamela Patrick and Shirley Carter. Their dresses were fashioned of the same material as the bridesmaids', and made in early Victorian style. Tulle-trim-med hats were tied at the side with cyclamen and lilac velvet ribbons, and they carried dainty posies. The best man was Mr. C. Peake and the groomsmen Messrs. Jeck Marshall and G. Ahlfeld. After the ceremony a reception was held in the beautiful room and vestibule of George Court and Sons. The floral decorations were in the same tonings as the church, while the tables were a bower of mauve and pink sweet peas and stocks. Mrs. Robertson received the guests in a black georgette gown and black hat trimmed with shaded rosebuds. She carried a bouquet to match. Mrs. Teake chose a black and gold frock, her black hat being trimmed with gold roses. A bouquet of roses ■ completed her toilette.
