Successes Claimed in Actions In the North. LATEST NANKING ADVICES. (By Telegraph.—.Press Association.) i WELLINGTON, this day. ! The following cablegram from Nanking was received by the Chinese Consul:—A concentrated Japanese attack was made at the Lotien-Kating highway, but the Chinese line remains unbroken. Chinese troops penerating west of the Civic Centre met with no resistance.
On the Tsinpu railway, North China, the Chinese drove the Japanese from Sangyuan and recaptured Hsuanchen, Potow and Fingchialou, and continue to push to the northward. On the Pinghan railway the Japanese line is in the neighbourhood of Tingchow. On the Suiyuan-Shansi front, following the fall of Pinjfhsinfrkwan, Japanese advanced towards Taihsien, near Yenmenkou.
