BIRKENHEAD FUNCTION.
The Methodist Hall at Birkenhead was decorated with spring flowers for the hostesses' afternoon held recently. The committee responsible for the arrangements comprised: Mesdames W. Gatman (president), L. T. Hayward (secretary), Alan Wilson. G. B. Hewson, W. Hubball, C. Lewis, A. Clow and J. Hall. The guests were received by Mrs. Gatman, assisted by Mrs. Alan Wilson and Mrs. O. Paterson. The programme, arranged by Mrs. Gatman, comprised a series of "living pictures." "A Beautiful Lady in Blue" was presented by Mrs. F. Walker and Mrs. Geoffrey Bentley, "Mother Machree" by Mrs. Edmonds and Mrs. Judd, "She Wore a Wreath of Roses" by Airs. F. Walker and Miss Jean Roseman, "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" by Miss Betty Birch and Mrs. F. Walker, "Slumber On, My Little Gipsy Sweetheart" by Miss Rona Boodle and Miss Jean Roseman, "Daffodils are Blowing" by Miss Clara Berry and Miss Jean Roseman, "To a Miniature" by Mrs. F. Walker and Mrs. Cora Judd, "The Quakeress" by Mrs. Walker and Mrs. ,Judd.
