Advance on Strategic Road Junction. ITALY PROMOTES A GENERAL. (Received 1 p.m.) BARCELONA, October 1. The Loyalists are advancing on the Aragon front. They are only 11 miles from Saragossa and 12 from Jaca, which is a strategic junction for the Sara-gossa-Huesca road. An official Rome bulletin announces that Brigadier-General Bergonzoli is promoted divisional general, dating from July 14, when the attack on Santander began. Although serving in Spain, .the bulletin adds, General Bergonzoli) is attached to the Italian War Ministry. HINT TO INSURGENTS. BRITISH TRADE REMINDER. British Official Wireless. The Ambassador to Spain, Sir Henry Chilton, now resident at Hendaye, over the French border, handed to the Salamanca authorities through Senor San Gorniz, head of General Franco's diplomatic Cabinet, a communication setting forth in general terms the British Government's views regarding British trade interests in insurgent territory.
