AVONDALE WOMEN.
The Avondale Women's Club held its monthly meeting this week, Mrs. Thom presiding. Miss Ingram gave a report on tho Women's National Council meeting, the conference being held in Auckland. Miss Amos gave two solos, which were enjoyed. Mrs. Bollard was the accompanist. Mrs. Bradstreet, the speaker for the afternoon, gave a talk on "The Turn of the Koad," and was accorded a hearty vote of Ahanks, and was presented with a bouquet of flowers, in the_ club s colours. Afternoon tea and a social chat brought a very enjoyable afternoon to a close.
