FIRE BRIGADE SOCIAL.

ANNUAL NORTHCOTE FUNCTION. The Nortlicote Fire Brigade's annual social in the Parish Hall on Saturday night was greatly enjoyed. The ladies' committee comprised Mesdames W. P. Roberts, W. F. Ward, A. H. Bradbourne, A. J. A. Hurley and J. L. Andrews. Songs were contributed by Mrs. F. Walker, the acveompaniments being played by Miss Tui Pearson. The master of ceremonies was Superintendent W. P. Roberts, who was assisted by Foreman A. J. A. Hurley. The dance music was played by Messrs. Stanley Mills and Laurie Hollands. A competition was won by Miss N. Day, and novelty dances by Miss Billie Hurley and Mr. Alfred Hurley, and by Miss Joan Bray and Mr. Freeman, the prizes being donated by Mrs. Archie Campbell and Messrs. S. E. McGill and J. Brennan. Among those present were: Mr. A. G. Osborne, M.P., and Mrs. Osborne, the Mayor, Mr. R. Martin, Messrs. E. C. Fowler, C. A. Clark and C. Mcßeth (members of the Borough Council), Mesdames E. C.
