ANGRY FARMERS.
FATAL CLASHES IN POLAND. (Received 12.30 p.m.) WARSAW, August 23. . Klc\en were killed and seven seriously injured in battles between striking peasants, who demand seats in ment, and police yesterday. Peasants in the Kielce, Cracow and Jaroslav districts stopped their produce reaching the capital, forcing up food prices. Farmers lined the highways preventing others from forwarding supplies to the city. They raided police escorting food lorries, with the resultant loss of life.
