IMPROMPTU' DEBATE.
SOCIAL AFTERNOON AT EPSOM.
An amusing and instructive afternoon was spent on Saturday by members and friends of Epsom-Oak branch of the Labour party at .the branch rooms, 'Royal Oak, when ap impromptu debating contest was organised.
Mrs. Mere Newton, secretary of the branch, and Mies A. J. Greville directed the debate. Some dozen question* were compiled and debated by their framera and the assembled ladies, and wit and wisdom were prominent in the speeches. Songs were rendered by Mrs. Jacobs and Miss Nora Jacobs gave two very pleasing dances.
